Service Description
If you know how to crochet the single crochet stitch, then you can make a plushie! Over three classes, students will create a customizable crochet monster plushie while learning the basics of crochet toy construction. Students will first gain an understanding of how to read written crochet patterns and learn how different pieces are constructed and joined together. They can then mix and match body parts, colours, and features to create their own original monster. With a variety of options to choose from, no two monsters will look the same! This class is a great introduction to making crochet plushies and will give students the skills and confidence to explore other amigurumi projects on their own. Beginners will learn the basics, including how to hold and work with a crochet hook, while intermediate students can explore new stitches, techniques, and projects. Students will create a collection of crochet swatches that can be used as coasters or sewn together to create a potholder, if desired, while more intermediate students can learn how to make a small crochet pumpkin!
